FREE, 2-DAY BUSINESS CAMP COMPETITION FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
WHAT IS THE BOOTCAMP ABOUT?
This two-day immersive bootcamp will feature 30-minute crash courses taught by prominent business leaders from New York the morning of Day 1. You will learn everything you need to know to run a business on the fly. After lunch, students will form teams and choose a location to sell and any product they want to sell the following day with a $200 budget provided by the camp. They will form their business, price their products, and create their market strategy. There is no need for students to bring any money with them. The team with the highest earnings by the end of the competition will win a $1,000 scholarship, which will be awarded to the entire team, regardless of the number of students in the group. On Day 2, we will teach students how to shake hands, look people in the eyes, and give a 10-20 second elevator pitch for their product. The teams will then go into the Capital Region community to participating businesses and sell their products for 4 hours (rain or shine) with their team coach/mentor. The team with the highest profit will win. Students will be mentored by Capital Region business executives and business owners who are all volunteering their time and expertise for the 2-day experience. The camp will conclude by 4:00pm on Friday.
